Your part of the country is my most favourite driving destination. Unfortunately, I won't get another chance to get out that way till possibly next summer.

Hey all,
I was wondering the same thing. I live in Manitoba and we get some mean winters. I am currently lookin at a 01 S2k and was wondering how it would handle in winter. I was thinkin about just getting some steel rims and putting on some Arctic Alpin snow tires. I wanna be able to use it basically all year round. Do any of you know if 15" rims will even fit on an S2k?? Can put on higher profile, and cheaper, rubber on. Also, i won't have a hardtop for it, is this gonna be a problem. I fear what would happen to the plastic rear window. THanks for all the info everyone!!

Steve

Well my car will be parked in the garage at all times, when it is not being used, so this keeps the snow off of it. The garage isn't heated, but it is a lot warmer in there compared to the outdoors. Makes quite a big difference.

yeah, I agree with Xviper. I grew up in Toronto and lived in Calgary for 2 years too. When i got to vancouver, i was so shocked! WHen there's like an inch of snow, the whole city goes nuts. ppl buy SNOW TIRES when it snows for 1 day of the whole year!

Granted summer performance tires don't handle as well in the cold and wet, but just drive slower...

what's weird is that when i park outside overnight, it's so cold that when my car starts, it STALLS! and that's starting without lights or AC on! i have to rev it for a second after it starts so it won't stall. Maybe the engine oil is too viscous in the mornings.
