The dealer called today to follow up and make sure everything was okay with my car.
I honestly don't believe they damaged in intentionally. Given the fact it was (luckily) a simple enough repair, I'm not too worked up over it.
If I had for sure checked the car before I left and noticed the damage, and say the screw was broken off to the point it would need drilling out, then I'd certainly have made a bigger deal of it.

Don't get me wrong. I was furious. But I guess it could have been worse.

i used to work at carter honda as a detailer and i got a car from there ....it used to be a shitty dealer ..they just fired their entire crew, manager and salesman and a few detailers. Overall the detailers do a great job(theres a couple that do amazing job, and a few who dont really give a shit) ...the coupons are bs pretty much useless. Couple of best salesman (forget his name) asian guy with glasses (is a writer for car and driver chinese edition) thing you should check if you buy a car from there is the roof, hood, and trunk. the new car lot is not covered and birds tend to shit on them (and sit there for months) and therefore very hard to get off...

Way back in 2002, when I first bought the car (from Carter), I had an alarm installed. It was supposed to be a 4 hour job, but it took 2 days. When I finally got the car, one of the latches for the soft top was broken. I went right back in to the service department and they accused me of breaking it. The car was brand new and I had literally driven it from the dealership to their service lot. Finally, they admitted that maybe they broke the latch. It took another few days to get a new one in. I never went back!
