Temp Moving to SLC area
Hi all, I am relocating here temporarily for the next 6 months. Regrettably I have to bring my S up here as my vehicle next week when I move into my apartment. I am not looking forward to the snowy slushy roads in the S. Does anyone drive their S as a daily driver, and do you have any tips or recommendations? Should I bother investing in snow tires for the S this late in the year? I am no stranger to driving in this weather, but in the S I

Welcome to UT. I actually used to live in Colleyville back in the day. Then moved to UT, then back to Dallas, then back to UT.
As for the snow, dont worry about it. The season is about over. March should be the only month to worry about. Most ski resorts close around the 2nd week of April so I would expect most of the snowfalls to be done by then. This winter has been pretty dry anyway. Not sure where you will be living but if youre in the SLC area you should be fine.
I would check out Modern Garage to do a clutch install. They used to have a website but I cant seem to find it now.

I don't believe Modern even exists anymore.
I use Utah Imports (http://utahimports.com). They're primarily an audi, vw shop; though they also do race car builds. That's how I ended up using them. They're very good and reasonably priced.

You also may want to try Laketown speed & sound.

If I recall, they are in Draper which is pretty close to Sandy

Laketown is close, but they don't do real intensive stuff like changing clutches and resurfacing flywheels last I checked, and I and others I know have had bad experiences there.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will just have to research it.
What about the local Honda dealers? Any horror stories or dealers I should stay away from if going to them? Which I rarely do, Honda is overpriced typically for their service, but at this point in time if they are trusted locally, I may just take my car to them for the clutch and get a 60k service since it's about that time now.
FYI.. A little history about myself... I am a huge Honda fan and pretty knowledgeable about most things Honda. I've done just about everything from turbo & s/c installs, engine swaps, clutches, etc. Honda is the only car I have ever owned, since my first 89 Accord hatchback.
Thanks again and hope to meet some of you soon. Anyone ever get together for beers or anything regularly? Back in Dallas about once, sometimes twice, a month members would get together for dinner, drinks, etc... Not that I was able to make it cuz I traveled so much, but I am more permanent here in SLC and would like to make some friends locally besides the guys i work with.

I'd stay away from dealer service dept.
We get together now and then for group drives. We should do a get BBQ and swim party at my house this year. I've talked about it in the past, but we've yet to actually do it.
My S2000 is a track queen now, so no group drives for me ... not that fun in the SUV.
