Default S2K in snow

hey guys i'm new and i'm thinking about gettin an s2k...but people have been telling me that it's not a good idea cause of all the snow and crap...how does your s2k fair in the snow...i live in the valley, we typically get no more than 6 inches...have you guys driven your S in the snow before? please share your experiences cause I am anxious to get a S2k but fearful of the winter hazards.... thanks in advance guys...

A good set of snow tires makes all the diff. I put them on around thanksgiving and take them off the end of march. One of the best investments I made on the car.

A set of four good snows makes all the difference, especially if you get a newer car with traction/stability control. I drove mine everyday last year.

i got stationed in utah in january, never seen so much snow in my life. with all season tires i managed to make it thru the winter but was very cautious and kept driving to a minimum. i wouldnt do it again. its easy to fishtail around corners even when going somewhat slow and i almost got stuck once from a stop.

Would you be using it as your daily commuter?

Ha! Call me crazy, but I drove mine from Utah valley to downtown SLC everyday, all winter! No problem (I did ride the bus a few times). Get some snows, and don't drive like a dumb-ass. After all it is a "summer car". Go for it. I had the top down more than once in DECEMBER and JANUARY. It was fun.

Hey thanks for the reply guys,

I live in West Valley and go to school at the U so it'll be my daily ride...i've driven my brother's 240sx in the snow before without snow tires, it was freakin nuts, imagine tryin to go up hill on one of them suckers...anybody know where I can find an s2000 for around 15-20 g's or cheaper if any??? I was lookin in the classifieds but none I liked. Is the convertible top going to be a problem with all the snow? Should I get one now or wait until winter's over? Anyways, if you guys are selling your S or know of someone who is, please let me know cause i want this car so bad, or else i will buy a civic hahahah j/k

Cool

I have some snow tires I might get rid of... they have maybe... MAYBE... 500 miles on them. And drive the S... You'll like it. i wanted a white one but ended up with silver. Right price was the deal there. Check KSL.com I saw 8 or so on there when I was looking. Most I've seen are in the 22k Range. RC automotive has 2 of them but those guys are shady. They'll let you test drive them though!
