I let Joe Alaniz go wild with the objective of building a streetable all-motor competition setup for my S2K. Here's an overview of the work that Joe did:
- Big Bore to 89mm. With the 88.5 crank, this brings displacement up to 2202cc.
- 88.5mm crank (AN ALANIZ EXCLUSIVE)
- Replace with high strength ductile iron sleeves.
- Custom pistons made by ARIAS to Alaniz specs including soft-edge radius done by Joe (kept stock CR)
- Rings (low tension type)
- Rods (Cunningham Ultra light rods made to Alaniz specs)
- Custom bearings Tri-Metal race type (AN ALANIZ EXCLUSIVE)
- New oil pump
- Competition Head Work
- New bronze valve guides
- Titanium retainers
- Oversize black nitride valves on intake and exhaust
- Clean, Flow, and Calibrate injectors (RC Engineering)
- Balance engine
- Blueprint block to ALANIZ race specifications

I'll post additional details including bench flow data, dyno, etc once available.

Modern Garage is doing the install and tuning work. Rest of the new items going into the car this round include:
- AEM EMS with A/F UEGO gauge type controller (gauge is mounted in place of stereo mode control above the start button)
- DEFI oil pressure and temp gauges (a-pillar mount ... never found another option I liked better)
- Mugen header (thanks Trent)

I'll be picking up the car from Modern this Fri with dyno and tuning to be done once I have 500 break-in miles on the car.

When will it be ready to drive? We need an excuse for a group drive.

Probably a few weeks. I'll pick the car up on Fri. No VTEC until the motor has 500 miles on it. The 500 miles will probably take less than a week ... then it's back to Modern for tuning of the EMS.

Congrats on the 315 RWHP with the SC! I'll be happy if we end up in the 240 to 250 range with the NA setup.

Is that the RWHP you are expecting, or could the numbers be higher with the right amount of "tweaking"? Either way, isn't that still MUCH better than stock?
