Default Yet another UBAB thread. Suggestions inside:

This thread is reserved for suggestions regarding the UBAB. Please voice your concerns, ideas, suggestions, etc. Don't worry, there will be no hard feelings....and as far as the caravan/tour, I will lead the large group. No one will have to worry about me speeding off without any care for the people in the rear.

I'll start with the suggestions:

1. Please fill up with gas prior to coming to UBAB. There's a BP gas station about an 1/8 of a mile away from my house. Fill up there before coming into my subdivision so that way when we're ready to leave for Lake Geneva, we don't have to do a group fill-up.

2. Bring a camera. There will be plenty of photo-ops at the house, on the drive, and definitely at Lake Geneva

3. Talk to everyone....you'll be surprised at the knowledge, background, etc. of the people in our group. If any cops stop by, be friendly and chat it up with them. See if they'll oblige with any photo ops of you getting "fake" arrested....talk to Deathscythe about this one.

4. Don't be shy....we're all friendly.

5. Please respect my neighbors, my neighborhood, and my house.

6. Bring the wife/gf/bf/husband. It's easier to go to other S2K UMW events solo, if the wife/gf knows the people you're hanging out with.

7. Bring the son/daughter. What better way is there to establish a close bond with your child and instill the value of owning a very respectable car. It's about self-esteem.

PJ? Is that you? (inside joke from last year's event).

We'll go on with the UBAB. We'll be ok with or without the rain. The forecast calls for 40% chance of rain....all I interpret is that we have 60% chance of no rain. The odds are still in our favor.

If it does rain, we'll eat and head inside if it's REAL bad. Just make sure you wear nice and clean socks. My wife and I are an Indian couple and if you've visited an Indian household, you know to take the shoes off at the door.

We should be ok...in fact, last year we did get some rain. It came and went....UBAB went on until 1AM regardless.

Don't worry about rain. They were saying 80% chance last week and NEVER GOT A DROP!

Also, be sure to check the weather for Algonquin. Last year somebody (PJ) posted up about a 20% chance of rain. In fact it even did rain BY HIM (He lives in Naperville.) Out in Algonquin, we got about 12 drops of rain and it was done.

Because it won't be raining. When you get there leave the top down. People may want to check out your car so raising and lowering the top to show off the car can be a PITA. Your car will be safe (I wouldn't leave $100 bills laying on the front seat, but the car itself will be safe.)

Bring a sweatshirt or jacket. Just in case you are the type that gets cold easily. You can always throw it in the trunk while it is nice and warm and sunny out. Mabey when you finally leave and it's dark out you might want a jacket for top-down cruising home.

Wash the car before you bring it up.

If you are meeting at Hooter's bring your iPass or at least toll money. We will be taking I90 out to Algonquin.

If you have parts for sale, bring them too.

While it will most likely not rain, if it's raining at our cruise destination, are we still going?

I guess that's up to the group...I'm ok with keeping the bbq going, or I'm ok with driving up. I've never been scurred of the elements in my S2K, but I know others may have issue.

Maybe for those that want to go and those that don't want to go, we can split the group up. Some can stay back, others can go on the drive.

Yep.

I know I am pretty guilty of this myself, but the car is NOT actually made out of sugar. It won't melt in rain.
