I wanna get some chips taken care of, and that price for the 3M is alot better then the $800 or so that motorworks wants.

It was at Motorwerks, for what that is worth.
Call ahead. you can talk with Kim in accessories, she will get you set up, also they give you a loaner while it is in.

I had the whole front touched up, however just the hood fenders and mirrors were done, for 400, not the bumper.

The guy who does the touch ups does really nice work, It wont cost you much, depending and he is up front on what he can do vs. just doing things and making it look worse.

It was $85 to have about 6 chips fixed on the hood and bumper, and two spots that were done with touch up paint globbed on he wet sanded and it looks really good compared.

It was raining so I could not get pics prior to putting it back in storage.

But the 3M treatment does not look bad on silver, for how many chips the car got from just normal driving I say it is worth it.

If you're interested in the 3M treatment, I know the guy that Motorwerks uses. He does great work! If you contact him outside of Motorwerks, I'm sure his direct price will be a LOT lower than the price through Motorwerks. This guy is located in Arlington Heights/Buffalo Grove.

As for the touch-up, I seem to recall that Motorwerks uses Carnica as it's contracted service provider. If I'm correct, they too will give you a better direct price than through the dealer. I've seen a Carnica location in/near downtown Des Plaines area.

I'm not knocking on Motorwerks by any means here. In fact, if my car ever needs to go to a mechanic, it will only see the inside of the Motorwerks garage. I'm just letting other owners know how they can save some more scrilla (<---do you kids still call it that?).

Thanks for the info! I'll show you my chip problem at the meet, and then you can tell him if i should touch up or just repaint. Also that 3M will be on there regardless so i will need to contact your boy.

He is a cool guy too, probably because he knows he is making a killing for relatively no work.

I guess I am lazy, I would not care paying the extra dough through MW just because, I can just take it back there if it is a problem and let them deal with it.

However, that info is good to know about dealing with them direct.

I ended up going to Schaumburg Auto Body. Thanks for the info on that other place. I just know these guys and do great work, I don't think I can trust anyone else.
