Obviously you get predictions every year about how good or bad it is going to be. Rumor is we are gonna have a nasty cold one.

For the guys who store thier cars, when do you put it away?

She gets put in the garage, started every week or two and run until operating temp. If the weather is OK we go out for a drive.

Well this USED to be my winter car:

And now THIS is my winter car:

I think that alone will ensure deep DEEP snow this year.

Considering the recent addition of this:

I am surprised the sky hasn't fallen already!

Last year I put my S away on Nov 1st. This year I will play it by ear as the weather was GREAT up until mid-Nov.

Seeing that the weather is holding up (aside from a slight bit of rain)....anyone want to get together for a beer or two either Thursday or Friday nights?

There's this great place in Dundee called Emmets. GREAT BEER....Indian Pale Ale, hmmmmmm!!!!

Any interest?

I will drive my S when it is not supposed to snow or be below 10F. Otherwise I will drive my truck. So my storage will be in my garage.

As for off-site storage, be very careful where you store it. I know people that have had problems with storage (floods, fire, vermin). I would never store it where others have access or any place old. Find a place that has cameras if you live in a bigger city.

If you have a house and room on your lot consider adding an extra garage. Even if it is one without street access. It may be just as cheap and you will not lose out on resale. Plus you can look lovingly at it every day. I have also seen garage "condos" for sale. These are safer because you have neighbors, plus they are resellable. These solutions also offer tax benefits if you get a home equity loan to finance them.
