Default Wheel change for performance

Any one have any recommandation on wheel tire combo for 02' S 2000. i was wondering if going to a 17 or 18 enhances the handing much and also if it would degrade the ridability on rough street of the S2000. Also and sugesstion on what kind of wheel tire combo is the best . I Like to save some unsprung weight on the car too. How much does the stock wheels weight?

Go lighter on the wheel, 17" is probably the largest diameter I would go for city driving.

The larger rim you go to, the easier they get to bend depending on the rim strength, spoke design, etc.
