Default Western Burbs Honda Dealer

Hello All,

My newly acquired is throwing aP2A00 and a P1172 code.

It looks as if there is TSB regarding this. The car is out of warrantee, but have heard Honda often covers this under a "goodwill" warrantee.

Any dealers you would recommend?

Over the phone, Valley and McGrath both said they would not only charge for repair, but also diagnostics even though I can provide the TSB and CEL codes.

Thanks, Bill

car is an 06 btw

if you know its the air fuel sensor why dont you change it yourself? maybe the dealer you got it from can do something about it especially since you said you just got it.

The TSB states that the computer needs to be reflashed.

Also the sensor isn't your typical $60 o2 sensor

I see prices of almost $200 online.

Maybe,

I have seen the tsb and it has a # associated with the reflash. It has something to do with moisture collecting where the a/f sensor is located.

If you're hell bent on going to a dealer, don't make that dealer McGrath. I had a horrible experience there this past fall. Rohrman in Schaumburg has good people in service.

I stopped my McGrath, hoping to get better service given that I bought the car from McGrath Acura....wrong!

I came with the codes, and even I paid for the reflash, they insisted on a $85 diagnostic fee. I had the code reader sitting in the front seat.

I was like if I want the software update and am willing to pay $60 for it, why do I have to pay another $85!

This is why I like fixing my own cars

Yeah I can't see any stealership taking the time to do ANYTHING for free... Try motorwerks, they have the #1 customer service in the country.

Check out Honda of Lisle, they have always been great to me.

They read my codes for free and also point out where my cars needs TSBS and even gives me print-outs for free that tell me exactly what I need to do to fix the Code Im throwing
