I just got some bad news via e-mail. See below...
All,
Daniele and I heard from Grattan today: they double booked the track for July 28th. There is another group scheduled for the track that made their reservation last year. The track owner, Sam, simply made a mistake and double booked us. We just found this out within the last half hour.
Game Plan:
1. The Thursday before our event is available (July 27th). We can have the event that day, and then give refunds to anyone who can't make it. We will refund your full amount, including any Paypal fees.
2. There is a Saturday available in late September (the 30th) we could have. Refunds would of course be given to anyone who can't make it.
3. We can move the track day to later in August. The dates (all weekdays) available are the 8, 9, 15, 16, 17, 24, 28, 29, 30, 31. Again, we will refund the payment for anyone who can't make it.
We don't know what to tell everyone other than we're sorry. We have been in contact with Grattan since May when we booked the event. This is the first we have heard of this. Please feel free to contact Sam at Grattan to confirm this is the case. We are trying to fix this problem with as little heartache as possible. Daniele and I hope all of you can make whatever date this ends up happening on.

Based on the feedback we have gotten so far, Thursday sounds like the day. However, we are going to try and negotiate also getting the September 30th (Saturday) date for a reduced price. We will let you know.
Again, I'm sorry for the confusion, but there is nothing we can do. The other group registered last year. I hope all you guys can still make it out.

Due to a mistake by Grattan, we had to move the day. Grattan douoble booked for July 28th, so we are moving to the day before. Please see 3ballsracing.com for all the details. We have also been able to get September 30th (a Saturday) as an alternate date.

Supposedly the story is they(the other group) registered waaay in advance, like last year, and the track forgot about it until now. Oops.
Oh well, I'm still planing on doing September 30th, now just have to wait 2+ months...

Keith, I got your message. Your refund is on the way. Daniele has all the details for who paid by Paypal or check, but either way it will be taken care of first thing in the morning.
The other group has an annual outing. Grattan allows groups like that to reserve the same weekend every year. When we were at Grattan in May, Daniele looked at the calendar with the owner, and July 28 was open. The track just forgot to mark it down.
I know it sucks, but we really appreciate how well everyone is taking it. A lot of people had vacation lined up. One guy was even going to drive with his dad who had flown in. Daniele won't be able to make it because of a work trip. I wish there was something else to say, but you can't have two groups on the track at the same time.
