Any recommendations on a lap timer?

That's the one I use. You only need one transponder on the track for anyone using the same system. This one allows you to setup multiple transponders to use them for section timing as well as full-lap timing.

So it's handy to get as many people to get the same one as possible.

I also really like the ability to download my lap times to my computer so I can save them for anaylasis and later comparison. This will be nice as I am planning to change cars soon, so I want to get a baseline at as many tracks as I can.

BTW -- Grattan hot-lap video:

(Not me, of course. I am also not a huge fan of the location of some of the cuts to the other camera, but it's a good way to whet your appetite.

One month left before we hit the track. We have 3 S2000's signed up so far, with plenty of spots left. Thanks to those of you who have signed up. If anyone else is on the fence, feel free to ask questions.

Thanks
Ken

This is what I have been using, with no problems. And I don't use dust shields.

Carbotech Panther Plus CT 537 1106 and Carbotech Panther XP CT 829 1108, different front and rear models. I also use Motul 600 fluid.

I do not get brake fade, while I hear others with the superblue sometimes do. I bleed out alot of fluid before and after an event. Either are good fluids.

I would seriously think about running these pads instead of OEM, coming for the long straight, you will thank me.

Keith
Why the different front and rear models? Is that all that is available for the rear or did you choose them to alter the brake bias?

Most of the track people I have talked to use a different compund in the rear to adjust the bias, but also because it is cheaper. The rear brakes don't do much to stop you, but you NEED a brake pad that can handle the heat.

BTW -- I finally got around to registering for the event. There are over 30 people registered so far.

I know this really isn't the crowd, but I did find this interesting: My Commerative Edition Z06 will NOT be the only one there. Someone else will have one there too. There were only 2025 Commerative Edition Z06s ever made so two on the same track will be to see.

Since I didn't get a reply in the other thread, I'll ask here as well. Can I just show up, watch and take pictures? How about riding along?
