Thursday Meet - KOREAN BBQ Back By Popular Demand
So all this talk about Korean BBQ has my mouth watering. For those of you who know and for those of you who don't know what you're missing. I believe, what is going to be our first Korean BBQ Meet is next Thursday.
Let me tell you about the place. It is called SONG-DO Buffet and is located in Chicago, on Lincoln Ave. Just North west of Western Ave. Here is the Google Local Map
Google Local Search for Song-Do Buffet
It is basically a hole in the wall. But the meat is excellent. Nothing fancy. Don't expect a large selection of food. There are a few side dishes here and there. Steamed rice. And Meat. Lots of it. Beef Ribs, Chicken, Shish kabob skewers, pork, and shrimp are the usual selection.
Description of the BBQ Beef Ribs: Basically its a tenderized cut of the rib, that is then marinated in a light soy sauce, with garlic, sugar, and some other spices and herbs. You grill it yourself on an open flamed charcoal grill, so you grill it to your liking.
If you've never been to a Korean BBQ place, now is your chance. I've made it for my co-workers before and they can't stop raving about it, so I think it'll go well with most people. As it is also a rather well known cuisine that has seemingly become trendy in movies these days. But back on subject.
Street parking is the only kind available, and yes there are meters. We should all be able to find parking, but it may take a little bit of effort.
I am going to set the start time at 6:30 (we'll start eating @ 7, but since its a buffet, just come on in when you can), I'm starting this thread early so I can get a good count on who's coming. I'm coming from Deerfield, and then driving home to Grayslake afterwards, so no whining about distance please.
I will confirm the price but I believe dinner should be $15 a person+Tax and tip
For those of you who are unsure about this, if you have any questions lemme know
Well. The List for whoever's adventurous(unless of course you've had it before)

Actually, I'm taking a cab or train. I could fit a couple of S in my condo's lot- its safe.
There is also a lot a block away from me (Fremont/Addison- Next to Wrigleyfield) that is $10.00 for the day- lots of available parking.
