Default For those that like to change their own oil...

Just a reminder. Many Honda dealerships have MORONS working there. Case in point BOTH McGrath Honda dealerships (One in Elgin, one in St. Charles.) Do not know which oil filter is required for the S2000. Both tried to tell me that the 15400-PLM-0A2 was the correct filter for the S2000 (and every other Honda.) WRONG!

I had to go all the way over to Schaumburg Honda to find the 15400-PCX-004 filter, which IS the correct filter.

Friends don't let friends buy (or use) the wrong oil filter.

The best bet, order a few from http://www.hardtopguy.com and have them on hand when you need them so you don't spend two hours tracking down an oil filter the night before you plan to drive for 5-6 hours the next day.

same thing happened to me.... "Honda have generalized their oil filters and the one filter is now used for all models"

You best bet if you have the dealership change your oil, is too call ahead and make sure they have the PCX-004 in stock.

Our local honda dealership will also install the wrong filter if you give them a chance.

They must Hate the Rear Wheel drive People

Of course you REALLY have to watch out for those NAPA guys. Especially the ones in the Aurora store. That are tall. And are bald. And drive white S2000s.

Does the "15400-PLM-0A2" even fit? I think that's what's used on my Integra with the RSX engine. That motor uses a much thinner but longer filter.

I always assumed the diameter was too small to even fit the S2000.

In anycase, I've been using the Purolator Pure One filter for a while with no issue in case anyone doesn't want to deal with the dealership "experience".

Even if you use e-store and do dealer pickup, and the invoice says PCX, they'll pull a PLM and try to hand it to you - See this thread for earlier comments.

Caveat emptor, as usual. At least the PLM has several obvious features so you can tell immediately if you have the right one - way smaller, no digits on the circumference.
