Test Pipe question
Emission papers just came in that I'm due. Does anyone know if I'll pass with a test pipe on? I know they don't run the cars on the dyno's anymore in but I'm assuming I would still fail. Anyone know for sure?
If I won't pass does anyone have a Cat I can use/buy? Someone stole mine when I stored my stock exhaust at a buddys house.

Nope...no dyno, no sniff. Just plug computer into OBDII port and the computer will read the emissions codes the ECU gives off. So as long as you don't have any check engine lights, or ECU throwing codes, the emissions testing will go.
Word of note: I think at the testing facility near Schaumburg may do a visual test of the exhaust if they see a modified car (looking for dumps and test pipes, I assume).

I have test pipe and i've passed twice already. The guys at the emissions by my house did not do a visual inspection. I believe just as long as you're not throwing a CEL light...you're all good.

the best way to pass with a test pipe is to get spark plug anti-fowlers. i have had mine like this for almost a year with no check engine light on andd all my moniter tests completed and passed. all long as your light is not on and doesnt blink five times after the car is started you will pass.

I have the fowlers already hooked up so I won't throw a cell. Should be good to go.

As long as you don't have a CEL you'll be fine. I just passed the emissions for the second time with my AP1 and the first time with my TSX w/ TP. On my TSX, the CEL came on two days after the test, whew....
Worse case scenario, if you need a cat to borrow/buy, I have one you can use/buy.
