Default Stolen items from KBAB

I tried sending this to those in attendance at the KBAB via PM. Unfortunately the site doesn't like mass PM's to too large a group.

Last week, there were a handful of items stolen out of at least two of our cars. I'm asking for those of you that were there to check your stuff to see if there's anything missing from yours.

So far here's what's missing:
1 Valentine V1 Radar with remote adapter (from my car)
1 Valentine V1 Radar (from Keith's car)
2 CX air freshener dispensers

As for the V1's, both Keith and I do have the serial numbers saved. For this past week, I've been watching the following sites for suspicious sales: Craigslist (Chicago, Kenosha, and Milwaukee), EBay, Honda-Tech, S2Ki, MWIR, and S2KCA. I ask that other UMW members help in looking as well. If you see/find anything suspicious, please PM me.

I will get the proper authorities involved.

I'm absolutely livid about this situation. In as close to 10 years of this community, this is the first time that I know of this has happened. It's unfortunately. I have a few people in mind that I think did this. I won't call anyone out unless I have good reason to. I will be keeping an eye on these individuals at meets this summer.

If you know of any information regarding the thief, stolen items, etc., please me.

I'd like this stuff returned asap, but have little hope.

I will double-check my stuff, but I seem to have left with everything that I brought up. This makes me wonder if my dad had the serial number from his stolen V1.

Could someone passing by seeing the nice cars have done it? I don't really remember strangers stopping by, but I was inside for a good portion of time.

Stealing from any member of the community is horrible, but from two of the nicest members is downright disgusting. I'm terribly sorry to hear this, and I'll keep my eye out and help in any way possible.

It's VERY sad when someone opens their home to us, and someone else steals from him.

Working as a group, we worked on fluid changes, brake repairs/upgrades/services, installed aftermarket parts, replaced a softtop, swapped out a diff, and lots of other work was completed. People were able to get FREE labor. As well as an opertunity to learn how to do these things on their own. The value of this type of meet is INVALUABLE and easily MUCH more valuable than a couple of radar detectors.

We have people host meets at their houses quite often. If we could no longer do that because people were afraid of having things stolen from their home, it would cut down on the number and type of meets we have, and could cripple the UMW group.

These radar detectors were not mearly stolen from two of our most senior members, but from ALL of us. If any of you saw anything suspicious, please contact Luder94 and help us to keep our community the trusting, giving group it's been.

I had such a nice time meeting and working with you all. To hear this kind of thing happening really brings me down.
I hope who ever did this gets whats coming to them.

well stated by ruexp67

very sad situation, but if "all's well that ends well" then this still has the chance to end up fine. hopefully the person who mistakingly gained control of these items will return them to their rightful owners.

If the person(s) having these would like to drop them off in a box with my name (Harry Cash) on the box at any UPS Store or the like, I'll be glad to pick them up on behalf of Keith/Luder to insure anonymity.

Just send a PM to me or call 630.670.6050 to leave a message.

Anonymity is guaranteed.
i would like to bump Harry's post because i think thus far it is our best option.

it may be best to allow the offender to return stolen objects and remain anonymous and realize that this is a community they best not steal from. and hopefully not do it again at future meets/gatherings.

and if it does happen again, well thats when we drop the hammer on this f***face!
