^^That Rt66 course sure was nice, what other clubs run there?
SCCA and occasionally Tri State Sports Car Council. For two reasons. A) It's too expensive for a smaller club and B) SCCA usually books nearly all of the free dates, of which there aren't many. Edit: One more reason, usually the amount of liability insurance required by the host site is more than a smaller club is able to afford.

Maywood is relatively cheap in all regards, the drawback is it's small and it's location tends to attract attention. Which is good and bad. For some reason people think they can do whatever they want (spinning donuts, burnouts, wheelies on their motorcycles) cause there is a motorsports event going on. Unfortunately it's that kind of activity that makes the host rethink renting to certain, if not all clubs. As a participant it's pretty much every one's job to police the event site. Sites are hard to come by and easy to lose.

This year, it appears only SCCA-Chicago will be at Rt 66. In the past, Tri-State Sports Car Council also held at least a portion of their schedule there, but apparently there were not enough free dates this year to do so. Instead, they're running at Sears Center (Hoffman Estates) and Toyota Park (Bridgeview) this year, in addition to a couple events at Maywood.

Can anyone who's run at both Rt 66 and Majestic Star comment on the lot size/surface condition? I thought from the aerial shots last year, the lot was somewhat comparable in size, but perhaps not as smooth.

you can have it back for $5.

garrison, sonia said she got a pic of you entering the first gerage and tried to catch you lifting the inside wheel but the delay on her point and shoot was too much and you were out the box already.

Garages are fairly common. Interesting fact - everywhere outside Chicago they call garages "Chicago boxes". Skidpads are rare, as are figure 8's. You'll see miata club and cvo do them though. 360 hairpins are almost unheard of. usually a mix of slaloms, gates, sweepers, and the occasional "wallom" (slalom a wall of cones, not just one cone).

For those of you interested in really improving at autox and driving in general, I highly recommend the Evo school that INR SCCA will be hosting in May. I'll post up about it later. http://www.evoschool.com/
