Pat, how do you like the Hondata? How long ago did you get it? If recently, assume you got the Flashpro rather than just having your ECU reflashed?

Also, how are the Hankook RS3s?

Some people say Hondata really makes the car feel more alive. I don't know if my butt-dyno is that in tune. I do notice a bit more midrange so I can get away with turns in 3rd gear when I used to have to downshift to second. Also, I like the higher redline. For example, at the end of the back straight on Autobahn south, I used to have to go up to 5th gear for a split second and then down to 2nd gear to power through the next turn. With Hondata, I can stay in 4th because of the higher redline and take the turn in 3rd because of the better midrange.

The Hankooks are good. Probably the same amount of grip as I had with the Kumho XS but more consistent. The XS like heat and on a hot day I would surpass people with other tires that were overheating. I had the Hankooks at a tire rack miata club event. 17 runs and they never felt greasy. Ton of grip from start to finish. I'll probably get them again. I think all the STR guys have concluded it's the tire to have. But the reason I'd get them again is because they're cheap.

This is the dyno from Hondata for their regular reflash (Not my car). You can see that the vtec curve is smoothed out resulting in that better midrange.

I was just looking at that, lol. They seemed to have dropped the price of the reflash, I thought it was more than $295. I might just opt to get the reflash since my plans are just keeping the car relatively stock.

BTW those dyno number's look really low for a stock S. I think that could be a K20 dyno.

Do you know anyone/anywhere with dynochart on an AP2 motor using an AP1 version 1 ECU?

Interested in seeing the difference in the curve vs. Hondata Flashpro.
