It looks like I confused everyone. My request for a local cagebuilder was to find a shop capable of welding rather than have a cage built.

As for added reinforcements, they are not allowed for SCCA stock class as the TSB only covers the seam weld around part of the bracket.

I am located in Oak Brook, and have found my way to AMS a few times, but any recommendations for other non-shitty shos would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Reinforcements on a 'safety-enhancing' product aren't allowed? These aren't performance enhancing to my knowledge.

I'm wondering if there's a misunderstanding on what I meant as 'reinforcement'.

Since Honda's TSB only covers reinforcement by seam welding (as implemented on 03+ cars), I would image it would then be considered safe.

It would be a slippery slope if methods of reinforcement other than those listed by the OEM for repair/safety were allowed. People could then argue other frame stiffening measures provide a safety increase, even though they mainly increase a chassis' performance.

I feel comfortable driving the car to a shop, but would prefer not to travel too far. Therefore I'm trying to limit my search to the western burbs.

Although I will drive it, I don't feel comfortable putting the car back on r-compound tires until this is fixed.
