Okay guys, I'm getting pretty excited about this. We pre-drove the route yesterday (without stopping at all the wineries), and it all looks great! I will be making reservations within the next week as I expect more than 10 people; so, if you're interested in attending, please post up or contact me soon. The first stop is in Tecumseh where we will be visiting one winery and then eating lunch. They do have a historic homes tour going on that weekend in Tecumseh which may create a little extra traffic, but I don't think it will be too much to deal with, and I will make sure we have appropriate reservations. Oh, I plan on making lunch reservations at Evans Street Station -- you can click the link and look over the menu if you wish. The second stop takes us past Michigan International Speedway, luckily, it does not appear that there are any events at MIS the weekend of the 15th. The third, fourth and fifth stops may be adjusted depending upon time (they are all relatively close together near Jackson). I think Lone Oak has the best wine, and it will most likely be our third stop.
We've previously been to most of the wineries on this trail so we did not stop at them yesterday (just to save up for the tour), but yesterday we did stop at one of the newest wineries (their tasting room just opened last fall) which is Chateau Aeronautique. As it's name implies, the tasting room is right on a small air strip, and the wine making operation, is in a small hanger sharing space with a Cessna 172. It was a neat experience, and I hope we make it there for the last stop (which will be the 4th or 5th winery depending on time).

A quick word about construction, there is not currenly any construction on the planned route itself; however, there is construction on I-94 between Jackson and Ann Arbor, which might affect those coming in from the West. According to MDOT, it's suppose to be a nightly single lane closure; however, yesterday, there was a daytime single lane closure, resulting in about a 15-20 minute delay. Although the good news is that they looked like they were in the finishing up stages, so perhaps it will be complete by the 15th...who knows. Just an FYI.

Got that study group rescheduled yet?
I'm looking forward to this. I might be driving a different car by then though.

Hey All,
May have to change to tentative on this. My almost 19 year old kitty is having some "issues" and I may not be able to leave her.
I am really looking forward to this so I hope she gets better soon.
