Default SE MI Pioneer Wine Trail

I propose as follows:

What: Southeast Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail is a group of wineries located in SE MI. http://pioneerwinetrail.com/map.html Breanne and I have hit up most of these places once or twice in the past. We will stop at some, but probably not all of these wineries, and I will combine this with a group drive trying to select some of the nicer roads along the way.

When: Sat., May 15, 2010. We will meet between 10-10:30 and get on the road no later than 11:00 to be at the first winery by noon, and be done by 6 p.m.

Where: Starting location will be the Meijer store parking lot at the intersection of Zeeb Rd. and Jackson Rd (just south of I-94 at the Zeeb Rd. Exit). The address of the Meijer store is 5645 Jackson Rd. Ann Arbor, MI. I will create a map of the route and pass out copies of the map at the starting location on the day of the event. Generally, the route will take us from Ann Arbor to Tecumseh to Brooklyn to Jackson, avoiding highways and freeways.

Why: To have fun.

How: Please read all of the group drive rules, taste responsibly, drive responsibly, use common sense, bring some cash for food, wine, etc., and have fun!

Another one I'll have to pass on - doing an autox in my old MG that day. Enjoy and thanks for putting something together.

I'll be at the Dragon with a group of guys during that time. Hopefully this great idea gains some attention and some folks can get on board

Okay guys, I've been working on a route for everyone to follow, I updated the initial posting with a few more details including a starting location and start time. I pushed the meet a bit earlier than I initially thought because the total driving time for the entire route is less than 2 1/2 hours, and I wanted to have sufficient time at the wineries and to grab lunch along the way. The good thing about the route is that the last three wineries are the closest together; so, if it gets late and we skip one or two, it doesn't really impact the overall route.

If you do this again after July 15th, I'd be interested.

Yeah, I guess it went without saying that you can't taste if you're under 21; however, that wouldn't exclude us from welcoming you along. The wineries on the trail are casual enough that it's not like they are gonna kick you out. You can still enjoy a nice drive and conversation, you just won't be able to taste the good stuff -- bring a soft drink of your choice instead.

I was going to come, but it says on my calendar I'll be at the Nürburgring that day. I can safely say I won't even have you in my thoughts!

This sounds fun and May 15th is our anniversary. I'll look into this further but we are pretty interested.
