SCCA #1 Route 66 May 9th
Who's going?
Car is ready. I'm not. I fully intend on sucking the first couple events until I get back into the swing.
Registration opens at 7:30. I'll be there around 7. I like to get through registration and tech quickly to get in at least 3 course walks. I'll be happy to walk and talk with anyone.

I don't have enough experience to say if it was a "good" course or a "bad" course. It was fun to me though. Below is a link to my 5th run. It was my second best run (59.3XX). The 6th run was the best (58.9XX), but the camera didn't record. I also think I was experiencing lift on the inside rear tire for most of the runs. That was a new feeling.

The course was interesting. Sweeper heavy. Sometimes you get a course like that, I heard this course was similar to the Blythevill National Tour course from last year. It's one of those courses that while it doesn't seem like it at the time it teaches proper car placement and definitely will benefit the driver who looks ahead.
Mark, you actually trophied. The results did not have the correct amount of trophies listed. I think you were 13th and trophies went to 14th. Send an email to the solo chairman (who's name escapes me at the moment) and let him know if you want a trophy or a chit (money off your next event fees)
This was my quickest (56.6XX) but I coned it. I had to stand on my 57.0XX. Apparently the Modifry bracket doesn't like my old heavy Sony MiniDV cam, sorry about the shake

that back section looked FAST. where's the 90deg full-stop box at the end?! lol
the first half looks to have many of the elements from the standard learning curve course, no?

Sort of like the school course but compressed. You had to really be on time through that section. You couldn't get away with much like you could at the school.
On my last run I hit the limiter going through the straight after the back slalom. It was quick for sure.
I had trouble getting the power down. I was fearing that. The hollow sway bar just isn't quite enough. I'll most likely order the solid center section today.
My setup, just in case anyone is curious.
3 piece Gendronlike sway bar 1.25" hollow .25 wall (will soon be 1.25 solid)
255x4 Dunlop Star Spec on stock AP2V2 wheels
-1.7 camber front, -2.2 camber rear, +6 caster
.08 degrees toe out front, .16 degrees toe in rear (about half of what I really wanted so I'll most likely get that changed before the next event)
