S2000 shaking over 70mph
I recently threw on new tires. They were right sized tires on my stock 17 OEM rims for my 2006 S2000. I noticed that when i go over 70 mph the car would shake more than usual. Has anyone experience this before? Or are my tires not balanced?
Anything slower than 70 the car feels fine.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a balancing issue to me.

My car does this too... I've checked all these things. I think my problem is alignment... my front tires are bald on the inside but have plenty of tread left on the outside. If the simple fixes don't take care of your problem you might try having it put on an alignment rack for fun.

My car does it as well. I've checked balance, tire conectricity, looked for wheel damage, even had suspected tires replaced. Had the car taken to several shops for different opinions Then we thought that one of my wheels was dented slightly (old S2000). Ok.
But here's the real kicker. I just got new wheels/tires on my S2000, and new tires on my Saab, and BOTH do this. Its my GUESS that certain pavements have a slight harmonics with the rotation of the wheel/tire. I have noticed this vibration with my old S2000, my new S2000, my old Mazda wagon, and my Saab wagon. I thought wheel bearings were going in the Saab because it's really bad when I leave work.
The vibration isn't huge, but its enough to be noticeable. It can oscillate from front to rear and be smooth between. And that's rather annoying.
But different sections of road, all the cars drove as smooth as silk.
There's no way you could wind up with FOUR cars, three of them different, that have the same problem at the same speeds and conditions.
I've actually had a conspiracy theory regarding this, but it's kinda stupid so I won't tell it.

To continue with what Paul said, I do know there are stretches of road (most of I-88, for one thing) that have an incredibly annoying oscillation that seems to coincide well with cars' suspension resonance frequency when driving at 65+. If it's only on some roads, this may be an issue.
In addition to balancing, I do know wheel weights can fall off of wheels... while it's rare, it did happen to my sister and caused her some annoyance until she took it back to the place and they re-balanced it.
