I was wondering what was going on at the track. I was playing some pre-season baseball down the road and watching everyone cruise by instead of catching flyballs.

damn way to destroy my thread
The videos you posted are great learning tool for sure. I don't know if you and your instructor found the time to review your runs using the tape, but if you did, it's awesome, if not, come out this week and try to do that. You'll learn so much from the video it will help you speed up the progress. It's a little easier to analyse your run when watching it, than to try to remember exactly what happened and where
Btw, have you tried the 1st slalom from both sides?

The last track day I went to last year I did 6 20min sessions. That's 2 hrs at speed vs. 5 mins.
BTW -- I have done Auto-X before, and I did enjoy it. I am not hating, I was just surprised at the number of runs.
If you autox before starting track days, you will almost always be better than the guys who went straight to track days.
And when I say autox I mean 30+ events.
I know way to many guys who go out there and suck at autox, quit right away and complain how it's not enough seat time.
The only way you get better is seat time.
Track days are more fun, but you don't learn as much about your cars dynamics as you do in autox.
Why?
Because you can't push your car to the edge to learn like you can in autox.

Btw, SCCA Event #1 this weekend has reached the 170 drivers cap, however, there are always people who don't show up (some don't like the weather they see Sunday morning, some are season pre-registered, but can't make the event, fill in whatever reason you think is probable) so i'd recomend contacting the registrars and putting your name down on the waiting list.

Questions, comments, registration requests (aka. waiting list) should be addressed to --> registration@scca-chicago.com
