why?
Well to remove the trans you have to drop the motor about 4 inches. The blower would have hit the cross member. Also you need to remove the A/C compressor and move the alternator, the supercharger was in the way of that too. Trust me if you haven

I see you went with a SPEC clutch too. It will have some scary loud decel chatter for the first 1000 miles or so.
Very interesting! Thanks for the heads up But after time it goes away? Also if it is only on the decel I assume it has no ill effects? What would be the cause of this? And how does it eventually go away?

I will be removing it in Feb. for a new clutch
Good Luck It's not hard just a huge PITA. Getting the trans off was not fun but putting it all back togeather went fast and smooth for me.

Also what clutch are you going with? And are you channging the flywheel too?

I got to talk to a SPEC representative at a show, and the Stage III clutch has material on both sides, and the shape is not actually round, but more like a cloverleaf shape. So the matierial thickness is SLIGHTLY different from "leaf" to "leaf." This causes the chatter. My T/A chatters like a MO FO for a long time. It would only do it from a start, once the car was moving it was fine. It got better over time as the material wore down to matching levels. I only drove the car occasionally in the summer and fall after getting the clutch, but drove it daily in the winter. Feathering the clutch (trying to start on snow and ice) helped breakin the clutch.

Don't be suprised if it chatters for a while. It also REALLY hates stop and go traffic. It gets hot, and then VERY unhappy. I also sometimes chirp the tires without trying, just pulling away from a light or a stop sign as it can be VERY touchy.

The Stage III will hold crazy power, but it REALLY is a bitch on a street car. Good thing I am planning for crazy power.
