I agree to some extent. The only downside is that you force everyone to choose and decrease attendance to both. Can't we find 2 weekends in the next 8-10 weeks to have 2 events?
Seriously, how many Wisconsinites are going to drive close to two and a half hours for a drive to/from Starved Rock on a VERY busy summer weekend only to park separately from the group and bbq with whatever we can bring in the S2000.
Starved Rock during the summers on the weekends is a busy place...parking isn't abundant and isn't "ideal" for S2K owners. In anycase, if the two events need to be separated, I vote that the Starved Rock drive be postponed for a weekend or two.
As I've stated before, this year's Wisconsin crowd is more actively and larger than I've ever seen. FWT got many perked eyes and ears of those owners in WI. As long as interest and the sense of community is running strong, I definitely think that the "J-BAB" should happen sooner than later.
BTW, since the Starved Rock event started as a softball/volleyball activity to a Satrved Rock Drive, there's no reason why the J-BAB can't include a drive to Holy Hill area.
Re-stating it, my vote would be to have the both events on the same day if neither "local" owners group wants to move it. However, if one must be moved, I vote that the J-BAB happen on the 26th!

So does that mean this precludes any Indiana, Iowa, or Minnesota folks from organizing and hosting an event the same day as well.

A meet in Minneapolis or Indy doesn't have the same proximity factors.

Again, the goal of NOT centering events around the Chicago-area owner's convenience is to make sure the owners of other areas gain an identity and become more autonomous around their own interests and schedules, not Chicago-area owners.
