Patinum's Time Trial Project
For those of you that don't know, I bought my first S2000, a 2002 Suzuka Blue, in February of 2005 as I was getting more into track days and autox and was sick of getting passed in my RSX-S by S2000's. Figured if I can't beat them, join them. That S2000 served me well for over 3 years...until Honda released the CR. I found a delete model locally in October 2008 and it was love at first drive. I had become decently good at autox by then and had aspirations at top level competitive autocross. Traded my AP1 for the CR, and started racing. I did decent at autox, witht eh CR helping me be more competitive with the built-to-class autox competition. I ran a Redline Time Attack event, and won, and got addicted to high speed track timed-racing. I found NASA Time Trials was great for me and started competing in that. After a few years of racing a nearly stock CR in TT, I've decided to build a car for that class. That way, I can be both more competitive and safe (full roll bar without doing any permanent/welded changes to the limited edition CR).
So I picked up my latest S2000 yesterday in Louisville, KY. It is a 2006 (originally) Suzuka blue with around 24k miles. It has a rebuilt title due to a front end collision but was fixed with mult-colored body panels. Perfect for racing. I plan on building it for NASA TTC right now and possibly for wheel to wheel racing in the future. In this thread, I will chronicle my build. Here's a pic as of 1/14/2012 and around 24k miles.
