I know YOU know what a GTO can do. I am guessing the owner doesn't have the slightest idea though.

Maybe he is afraid of blowing up his trans.

Because if I took the S2000 out there you godamn better believe I would never launch the car hard unless I had a spare trans and diff laying around.

I'd have no problem launching my Trans Am or my Z06, but I NEVER launch the S2000.

The GTO, with even a moderate launch should be able to hit 13s pretty easily.

I don't see it being a problem for our cars to launch. I think it's either defect or abuse that will make a diff/tranny fail.

I launched my first S2000 over 1000 times and beat the crap out of it. NEVER had a problem. This S2000 is no different, even before I got the comptech reinforced diff.

Well then Matt. You might be the only one.

Harry, Pinyo, Brad. Any of you guys care to share your experience with S2000 differentials, half-shafts, transmissions?

Don't all of them also road race though? I've never done auto-x or road course. IMO, doing that can be harder on those parts than launching at the track.

Plus, people telling me their personal experiences isn't going to change my mind. People make it sound like if you do clutch dumps you'll blow up the car, and my point is that simply is not the case.

meh. heat was the enemy today!
Come on it wasn't that warm out yesterday. GLD track just sucks no matter what the temps are.

Time slips? Would like to see reaction times and 1/8 mile too.

Yeah it was me. I wasnt sure if you could see me.

On the launching subject my car has been launched I will say on the safe side about 40 times. Knock on wood the diff is still fine. I have draged my car and gone to Auto Xs.
