Hi everyone, I just bought my first S2000 from TN and drove her home to MI under a month ago.
Its a SilverStone AP1 2001 Black/Red Stock (besides Vortech S/C Kit, DC Headers, Lowering springs & Slotted rotors.

I have FOURthings to ask/address:

1) My first concern is that i have a rattle in the SC-er when it decelerates (untill it gets to 2000 rom, then it doesnt rattle)
My mechanic and I noticed its a bit louder than a normal vortech and the top pulley has a bit of play. the kit has about under 15k miles on it id say.

Here is the thread: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/965...t__p__21856816
(video is included in link ^ )

2)When i purchased the car, i was told it had a CEL for P0336 -Crank Position Sensor.
After some research, i wasnt satisfied with the results, just one guy saying he had it happen immediately after the Vortech SC kit was installed.
When i am driving it sometimes wont let me go past 6k rpm, if i aproach it , a weird noise is present, and if i keep accelerating the code will display. And other times i get the Misfire codes P0300 -P0304 saying i have a misfire.. got new plugs, and i still had it come up.
any ideas?!

3) Im considering taking it for a rebuild. But to do so i need to drive the car with out the SC on. And that raises more questions: What do i need to do to run the car w out the kit (for about a month) ?

So i made another thread: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/968...#entry21889607
-Hoping to get what i need, and soon...

4) And later once its back and all good (hopefully) , Id like to buy an AEM Ems and TUNE the car..
>Where can i tune it in Michigan 48307?

Thanks in advance !

The new toy:

2) Follow the misfire troubleshooting FAQ to see if you can identify the issue

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/760...oubleshooting/

3) I drove my Comptech quite a bit without the SC to have it rebuilt. I just removed the belt and the compressor. That's all. I did not mess with the FMU at all. It's real function is to mask the MAP sensor from boost transitions. If you are not boosting, it has no job to do.

Of course, you will not need to do this if 1), above, fixes your problem.

4) Don't know about MI tuners.

First off, i want to honestly thank you for the effort to respond to everything.

now, the rattle is actually coming from the snail itself. I have revved it w one hand and had my hand placed on the turbine unit itself and as i revved it UP it (as my mechanic said) " whistles/makes louder noise than usual ones. But as it Decellerated - when i take my hand off the throttle , it rattles (like in the video) and I CAN FEEL THE UNIT RATTLE . Its inside the SC itself .. So what could that be?! Hoping just bearings since i read they used shittier bearings on the V2s.

THanks for the threads, ive seen the second one before. I have to finish reading the,. been soo damn busy lately!

And as for the removal of the SC -er I wish it was only that. I dont have the stock bolts or what not, to take off the long extended bolts. Or are you saying i can just leave the supercharger mounting system in place..and just detach the SC itself? That would be great. il take a closer look soon.

this is what was posted from my thread i opened:
So far i have gathered (from this post) that il need:

"The 3 OEM screws that hold the vtec oil assembly in place,
(since the ones you are using right now are way too long because they feed through the vortech mount.)

The 2 small oem screws that are replaced by studs from vortech holding the lower support block in place.

The oem screw & washer that bolt the idler pulley in place. Vortech replaces those with the mount coming out of the pulley and a very long bolt."

belt?

Stock crank pulley

..Again, thanks for the info.

Sorry for the delayed response, but welcome!

Harry (hecash) is definitely a wealth of knowledge himself, and hopefully some other local guys can also provide some input if you're still having issues.

Hopefully we'll get to meet you sooner or later! Good luck with these issues!!

Welcome. I'm no help when it comes to the mechanical stuff, but K1ngfunk is right - there's a wealth of knowledge here, so I'm sure you'll find your answers!
