Well, I really liked my 2000 silver Eclipse GT (more info on request). It was a great car, let alone first car, don't get me wrong, but there were just so many (locally), and it was still my dad's car technically, I just was the main driver. He had the final say in any aftermarket stuff and pretty much anything relating to the car.
So, Wednesday we were checking out a local car lot when I spied a car that I had seen on their website. The place mainly buys insurance vehicles, fixes them, and then sells them for fantastic prices. Anyway, it was love at first sight, and my dad said he'd let me test drive it some time. I was sure he was just leading me on to disappointment, because the practicality of the car wasn't much. However, he talked me in to taking it for a test drive on Thursday to, at the least, be an "experience", and wow, what an experience it was. As if I didn't love the car enough, now it was just unbearable. That night my mom, dad, and I all talked with a level head, and then Friday morning, we went in and picked 'er up, getting her for an even better deal. Not only is it an absolutely awesome car, but it's MY first car (I'm paying for it, so I can do what I want), so it's very special.
She's a 2001 Honda S2000 with 22000 miles:
At first I wasn't sure about the black hood (it's not CF, just stock aluminum) and red interior, but they both have really, really grown on me.
but man I LOVE HER! I know it's not really a girls name, but I've named her Proteus because it's a mythological character that could "convert" his shape and his name infers first (it's MY first car).
She's basically a graduation gift to myself for getting a very healthy scholarship (free tuition basically) to UIC.

Thanks guys for the compliments and warm welcome!
Nothing was wrong with my first car, except that everyone and their dogs had one around here. I just saw this at an amazing deal, and decided to fulfill a small dream.
I've been fairly conservative with the gas pedal, but apparently not enough... I got a lame "squeeling tires" ticket after doing a small power slide through a corner, but I know some people that are good friends with the cop (including this cop's previous dispatcher), so I'm hoping between that and our lawyer, we can get it dismissed or lowered to some non-moving violation. But, I learned my lesson, that's for sure!
I just can't wait to take her to an autox event. I really want to try that out, as it sounds like loads of safe and legal fun.
In the meantime, here are 3 more pics. They originally had a royally messed up white balance, making them appear very blue. I did my best to fix 'em with Paint Shop Pro. If they are too large for the board limit (not sure if you guys have one), let me know and I'll change them to just the url links.
