My Rear End Went Bang, Clunka Clunk
well, i left a cruise night tonight at a friend's shop.. as soon as i pulled out of the parking lot to go home, (under my usual driving style(abusive)) i heard some loud noise comming out of the rear end. i tried to turn the car back around to the parking lot, but ofcourse, it couldnt move. good thing there were alot of kind people that ran out to help me push the car back to the lot( all 12 of them!!!). i pulled the car into the shop area and jacked up the rear to see the problem. the only thing i notice was that my right rear drive axle boot was totally twisted. so, i put my car in gear and turn the left rear tire to see if my diff took a dive. it was OK!!! as for my right axle how ever, when i turn the rear right wheel, it just made some nasty clunking noise inside the boot.. im sure i prob tore the cv a new a$$ hole!! im not really surprise that this happened, since i been abusing my car for the past 52k miles!! what surprised me was that it lasted this long!! hopefully i will get the car back together soon, so i can enjoy driving it again, until something else breaks..

Pinyo,
Can't believed this happened!! That really sucks. We'll maybe you can get some 600HP axles from driveshaftshop.com =) Then you won't have to worry about the axles breaking again.

Mind as well upgrade if you have to get a new one anyways.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Guess you're not going with us tomorrow =(

That's too bad about the car...but for those of us less mechanical than you (ie most everyone), based on this problem, what are you going to replace/what should you replace (I assume replace both sides, even with like parts due to wear?, what about any of the bearings? will you upgrade to different axles?)
