Default Moving to Minneapolis

I wanted to let the locals know that I would be moving up to Minneapolis this January. I'll start work with Starkey Laboratories on January 14th, so I'll be moving up about a week prior to get settled in the groove of things.

I still don't know where I'll be living. Right now I plan to rent for the next 3-6 months until my better half moves up to set me straight in July. I'll buy a house sometime this spring before she actually makes the move.

Don't know where I'll be living, but I expect that it will be fairly close to Eden Prairie to make the drive to work as brief as possible

See you soon!

Jason

Let me be the first to welcome you to Mlps, Mn even though you're not actually here yet . Mn S2k group aren't too active but we're around, I'm located in Bloomington which about 3 minute to the big mall (Mall of America) and Edan Prairie is about 10 minutes (depending on which area) from there.
Glad to have another S up here

Are you coming with the car? If so, make sure you have some winter/snow tires.

Glad to see you in the UMW...now just find a way to get your job to move you to Chicago area.

Welcome to Minnesota, I work in Minnetonka which is just one suburb to the north of Eden Prairie.

Welcome, it's pretty frigid the month of January...be prepared.
Bad thing about MN is you can't enjoy the S2000 year round.
Good thing is, everytime you take it back out, it's Deja Vu all over again!

I will be coming up in January and hopefully have enough warm clothes to rough it out. I grew up in CT so I imagine your temps are much lower but I'm no stranger to snow, ice and wind.

My S2000 now has a new home in Texas with a new owner. Bright guy who is very interested in the car and will take excellent care of it. With my change in lifestyle (starting a real job) I decided to change my car status as well. Right now I'm shopping for an SUV to take up with me. Once my fiancee/Wife moves up in July she will take the SUV and I'll look into another vehicle. I don't think an E92 M3 would be a good winter car

I'm interested in hearing advice on where to live and what to do in the city

The Twin Cities has a lot to offer. Tons of lakes, nice Mississippi river, great entertainment in downtown Minneapolis, lots of events throughout the year. I don't roam around the cities much but it is quite big considering that all of cities are bunched together. There's also lots of small town in the surrounding area, lots of history there as well as good scenic views. I'm sure other fellows can chime in, lets tell him how great MN is!
