Default Moving to Milwaukee area

Hi everyone, I just got offered a promotion to head up my company's regional office in Milwaukee. I have never been there and have no idea what to expect. I will also be looking for a place to live. I want to be close to our office. What are the house prices like? Apartment prices? Thanks in advance!!

Ryan, give me some more details. Where is your office, what company is it, and do you want to live in the downtown/east side area, or a suburb like brookfield, new berlin?

House prices in the burbs (IE: brookfield, where I live) range from 200K up to well over a million dollars. The east side, on the river front, you could get a decent size condo (1800 sq ft) for about $360,000 or so.

Let me know if you are looking in a certain area. A very close family friend is a realtor for Coldwell Banker, so she can definitely help you find something.

Oh yea, when do you plan on moving up here?

What type of residence are you looking for suburban, urban?

Where is your office gonna be?

Traffic in this City is not bad but certain commutes are a lot better than others

are you looking to live where you play or live where you work?

do schools matter? (quality of)

Sorry guys, I will post up more info when I can. I am really busy right now. I appreciate the help so far.

My company is Universal Underwriters, we insure auto dealers.

I am single, no kids. I like to go shooting so I would like to know where some shooting ranges are.

The address for the office is:
17W24222 Riverwood Drive
Waukesha, WI 53188

As I said I have NEVER been to WI so I do not know anything about it. I would prefer to live no more than 15-20 minutes away from the office. I am not very picky. Thanks!!

OK, well that address is right off of I-94 and HWY J. Its less than 10 minutes from my house, which is on the border of brookfield and waukesha. If you are looking in the brookfield area, there are a lot of new developments with everything from condos to town houses, and apartments. If you want a house, there are a lot for sale in the brookfield area.

Let us know when you are coming up here, it would be nice to see some more S2 drivers in the milwaukee area.

For single life, downtown is really the best, but its going to be about a 25 - 35 minute drive.

HAHAH.....I used to work about 2 seconds from that place, so I know exactly where it is.

Here is my cell #, call me if you have any questions. I would be more than happy to show you around a little bit!
