I origonally posted in wash and wax section

I informed wanabe of it, and thought I was shot by a paintball gun..
After 5 other opinions at home, I was shot at by a gun.. A real one.

It happend probably around 12:30 am in south beloit wisconsin.. I was slowing to a stoplight and remember shifting down to 2nd and I heard a loud ass pop sound.
I was freaking out thinking my tranny just did something really bad..
Light turns grean and I decided to get out of my car (i knew my trans wasnt messing up) I was pist as F*** cus i knew i was shot at by something, my first thought was a paintball gun. So I walk around my car to figure out what happend. A paintball gun wasnt the case, there wasnt paint splatter anywhere.

I was so furious at the moment I didnt give a FK what shot at me, I went searching the area for the punk ass fkr that did it. I still want to go back and do something about it.
I didnt call the police cus I was in wisconson and didnt know their number.. 911 probably would think im screwing with them, or say it WAS just a paintball gun.
its too late now for a police report isnt it?

heres my pics at home 15 minutes after it happend.

forgive my camera for sucking so badly

anyway. what should I do about my car?
im not about to take it to any ol' joe to take care of this. Will a honda dealership do anything, will they charge alot?
Am i going to get the same paint job?
How should i treat my cars open metal for now?
should i even attempt to get the dent out myself with the heat gun and ice?
I've really got too much on my mind for nonsence and ridicule. please keep that for yourself if it is.

I needed that " that'll buff right out?"
my day really sucks, wanted to detail my car like I do every weekend seeing that I work all week and do nothing else.. but since this incident, I dont want to really mess with open metal like that and screw up something already screwed up.

Ehhh, as Rockford being where I grew up... I grew up with a gang like group.. I have alot of honor, dignity, pride and respect for my past. Resulting in my avoidence and somewhat anti social mentailty I poses with where im at now.. Not to mention the culture like shock when moving here. It goes alot further then this with me, ill quit explaining seeing how waay off topic it is.

Anyway, hope I dont get such a dent in my budget to where I cant get myself that intake. God this is going to suck! not going to have the S to drive while it gets repaired gonna be a sad week

I wouldn't take it to Honda to be repaired. They are just going to shop it out to the cheapest body shop they can find and charge you a LOT of money to fix it.

That would fall under your comprehensive insurance as vandalism, so unless you have a large deductable you should be able to get it repaired through them.

It is probably too late to call the police now, but you should try it anyway since you may need a report for your insurance company. The operators at 911 are trained to take things seriously. Even if they "think" you are joking they will dispatch an officer anyway.

I don't think that is a gunshot. A bullet would have penetrated the metal without trouble, whatever that projectile was it was going a LOT slower than a bullet. As mentioned above, it looks like a BB gun to me, mabey a pellet gun.

There is a very good body shop in Huntley Il, but I have no idea how far that is from you. If you are interested, call them at 847-669-5260 and talk to K.C. ONLY talk to K.C. over there and he will take good care of you and your car.

On the bright side it hit your car and not your head!

To think people at meets cringe when I tell them I'm from the southwest side of Chicago. Least I've never been shot at! I thought all Wisconsinites were docile creatures that drink beer and chew on cheese.

LOL, wisconsinites beer drinking and cheese eating forest dwellers.. I'd say your about 98% correct on the entire state

Well, I know bb and pellet guns dont make this kind of damage. Those projectiles are very small and wouldnt make such a large dent at any speed.. Im starting to lean toward a rock, poping sound could have easily been when it hit my car

Paintball gun with the psi's cranked up or a ball bearing fired from a slingshot. Good luck with the repairs, looks like it should be an easy fix.

I kinda got 2 threads going on the same subject, I dont know how to move a thread.

Anyway, tomarro im getting it repaired for 460 to 480.. gonna take 2 days.
Im happy though. Longer I see this dent and paint chipped off, the sadder I get. Best thing about where im getting it taken care of is, their family owns 3 S2000's and know how to take care of them. Had a great time chatting with em while getting my estimate.
Same year and color as mine was parked in the lot. The owners car!
Has less then 10K miles and is sharp!!
