Default Mercedes 270 CDI

I got a chance to drive my dad's '03 MB 270 CDI on the mountains when I went to India to visit my parents last month. I was very impressed with the almost insurmountable amount of torque it had. Also, it never bottomed out even we I drove it on unpaved road (including the pot hole filled paved roads) to get to the resort at which we stayed. Above all, I constantly got around 23 MPG

23 mpg doesnt help when diesel is a lot more expensive than gas. Also... diesel=less horsepower=slow cars=more money than gas cars

FYI Diesel is subsidized and not taxed as much as gasoline in India and many European countries, so it's cheaper to run diesel cars over there. Also, diesel engines are much more efficient than gasoline engines. It's true that they generally have lesser horsepower , but they feel livelier than gasoline cars during city driving because they have more torque.

Looks like you got a couple of those suckers!! ...or at least 1 and a half!

(are those things just like squirrels over there or what? Seems kind of random to just have a couple pics with monkey's chillin' in them...)

I missed this. when I went to India to visit my parents last month

With that being said, yes in other countries diesel is cheaper and generally preferred.
