Default Looking for a lawyer

Last Saturday I had a run-in with the law. I'm not going to go into details over the internet as to what may or may not have happened, but I ended up getting 3 tickets, 11 points on my license and over $600 in fines as a result. The incident happened in Columbia County and I have to go to court in Portage. I'm looking to hire a lawyer to represent me. Does anybody have any recommendations?

No, but good luck with that, they are very uncooperative.
My wife got a speeding ticket from one of those airplane speed traps, funny thing is, we were pulled over because I was puking because of a hang over.

Then when I asked for the time over distance traveled logs, they would not give them to me.

Damn dude. You need a really slow, mello daily driver. Good luck. I know a gang of personal injury lawyers but none to my knowledge that handle traffic matters.

Best bet is to grab a phone book or look on the "internets" and find your run of the mill traffic lawyers. Start calling and asking for quotes. Let the lowest price win....

I'd stick to areas around the courthouse, as they will most likely be familiar with the DA's and usually more willing to strike a deal.

Good luck. I've been in those shoes once or twice..... or more...

Go to martindale.com or lawyers.com

To be listed on the martindale site you have to be positively rated by your peers, so the listings are pretty trustworthy.

I had a lawyer in South Bend who got me out of a speed contest and unsafe start ticket, I was put on drivers probation for a year. His office was right across from the courthouse..I agree with the theory of finding a lawyer with an office by the court house, my lawyer new a DA that would sign off for me to be on probation, without him I would have had ZERO chance and would have lost my license.

good luck!
