For locals only: Hondata intake gaskets
I have found someone local that is purchasing a large amount of these intake gaskets.
The reason for these gaskets is to contain engine block heat from transferring to the intake manifold. As the intake manifold heats up, the charge air inside the manifold heats up as well, before going into the engine block. For performance, everyday driving and track orientated driving, this is a big no-no.
In the hot and humid summer days on your way to work, you'll feel the affects of this by noticing a dramatic "bog" from a standing start. You may also notice slight hesitation on-gas after a normal gear up-shift.
The gasket blocks a good amount of the heat normally transferred to the intake manifold. This will allow more air to enter the engine (think: cooler air better), allowing more of a complete combustion of gas from each ignition.
Install is a pain in the a$$. I have got one on my car already. I am getting one for my cousin, who just bought an S2000. I may have a car clinic one day showing people how to install these on your own car, hell I may even hire my services out.
The cost: Around $60. (This is a cash in hand only deal...please bring cash...no delivery charges, no waiting for shipping, etc.).

When: Delivery of these gaskets is dependant on when you can meet up and bring cash.

It would make as much sense to do the oil jet bolts and the intake gasket as it would to install aftermarket suspension.
These two projects are completely separate. That being said, it's not an impossibility to do them the same day.
Maybe we should get our certified Honda-tech to help out with these projects.
The 'diy' aspect of this mod is very intricate...it's not as intricate as let's say tuning a/f trims for our cars relevant to climate changes, altitude, and environment changes.
If you think you are savvy and inclined enough to take on this install, give me a call, I'd love to give you a hand.
My thoughts on the install were that it was a MAJOR pain in the A$$. It wasn't highly technical to do it, just VERY tedious.

I think it would be a lot better to do those mods on seperate days...
I'd like to get both of them done during this summer, if time permits...

Seems like a big PITA. My CAI seems to work VERY well at eliminating heat soak and I did not have to remove the intake manifold to install it.
If anyone in the area is planning on doing it, I would LOVE to come over and help though.
