Pat (patnum) and Keith (aquatic) are setting up a Lake Geneva meet for both Illinois and Wisconsin people.

Pat will make a route from Ill to Lake Geneva. I will have a scenic drive route going through Burlington to Lake Geneva.

The plan is depending on traffic to meet downtown at 1m and have lunch at Popeye's BBQ place downtown. Parking will be tough.

For Wisconsin people meet at my house at 10:30 for the drive to Lake Geneva. We will be going back roads to Burlington and then twisties through the farm country.

Pat will post up his idea when he has it. (Plenty of time before June 5th)

I'm open to any suggestions as far as roads. I've done some exploring between Gurnee and Lake Geneva as well as between Schaumburg and Lake Geneva, but nothing extensive. I'll be on a scouting trip one of these weekends armed with a smart phone, google maps, and satellite view.

Last summer the notfwd crew did a group cruise to Lake Geneva with the Lotus gang (~15 cars and 4-5 bikes). I'm not sure if the cruise organizer had some kind of connection, but he set it up so that the Popeye's parking lot was reserved for us .

Their website says they open at 11am. I don't know if your meet up times are set in stone, but it might be worth considering starting the cruise earlier with the goal of arriving there when they open. If we guarantee to be there at 11am and have "X" number of people coming, they might be willing to keep the lot blocked off until we get there. Just a suggestion....

Yosh great info. I did call them two days ago and asked if we could reserve the lot. They said maybe a some spots. They only have 10-12 spots and they need to keep some open. But they are going to talk to the management and see if its possible.
I will try and call later for follow up. I thought they had more spots then that myself.

Either way it won't be enough spots or close. But I'll try again.

i was about to post up about the event that yosh posted. we had a solid 20 cars and they held the lot for us at noon and kept it closed after we arrived. they even denied entry to scrapdog cause he arrived like 20 mins late.
i hope all the tip the lot attendant recived that day was enough to make him want to do it for us this year.
