I went to Northstar about 2 weeks ago off of Pat's recommendation and they were fantastic. They fit me up for a helmet and I basically tried every one on before I ended up buying one from them.

I definately recommend sizing up & trying a bunch on, because I measured up as a medium, but none of the mediums fit me properly. I ended up getting a size small HJC helmet and I love it. Thanks again for the advice Pat.

We (www.MVPTrackTime.com) don't worry about full-face versus open-face, but the SA2000 or SA2005 rating is imperative for a car. After 2010 our minimum accepted helmet will be SA2005.

I've used Simpson (www.TeamSimpson.com) equipment exclusively for years and they recently introduced a full-faced SA2005 helmet, the V-Sport, for $249. That's $50 per year over the useful life (five years) of an SA rated helmet.

^^ really, you have a stricter standard than SCCA? only the current and one prior Snell rating, not the prior two?
