Fort Wayne, IN - looking for mechanic for my s2k

Thanks!
A bit of a follow-up - I'm finalizing details to drive down to TN to visit Jordan, and get everything rebuilt & fixed. I called several places locally - a couple actually turned me away, and said they didn't feel comfortable doing a head job on a s2k. The Honda dealer would, but they said they'd just pull the head and ship it out to the local machine shop here (CNP?), and from what they said it didn't sound like they've done that on a s2k yet before (or at least, not many).
While a trek to TN is inconvenient, I'll feel much better about the end result going to someone that has done this on many s2ks in the past, and has such a good reputation here on s2ki.

Resolution: I visited Jordan in Nashville, TN, for a rebuild. Confirmed burnt exhaust valves on pretty much all cylinders (I have a picture in the Under The Hood thread). Rebuild went great, he had me in and out in no time. Car is much stronger now!

That's awesome! Glad to hear it is sorted, now you can enjoy it worry free. I read your under the hood thread. You know they were bad if you fellt a power increase, didn't know what you were missing LOL. That Jordan guy sounds like a really cool person to work with. I think the big positive is you got to drive a smooth running S2000 home through the fall foilage. Hope you get some enjoyment out of it before winter strikes. We've been really lucky these past few days with the 70+ degree weather, but I feel it'll be short lived. I usually put mine away around Thanksgiving and wait until Marchish to get it back out. AFter driving the daily all winter, driving the S2000 feels amazing.

Hello Bitslop and congrats on the new Rio S2K. I too live in the Fort. I have to ask, do you live or work in around the Dupont/Caroll rd area? I live there and my wife and I have spotted a Rio 06/07 yr model (has that style rim of those years) several times recently in this area. Don't see many S2K's in this town so I'm always excited to see another.
Anyhow, I had my valves adjusted on my '06 about a year ago at the Honda dealer for around $200ish. When I first got the S2K, the service at this dealer was awesome, then it went down hill for a few years. I think part of it was from them dissolving the pontiac dealer and sending all those people to the Honda dealer for service. I think there must've been a managerial change maybe 2-3 yrs ago, as the service has improved quite a bit. During their down years, I was going to the Acura dealer for a few odd things and they were awesome, possibly the best I've had at any shop. Reason I even tried them is they were combined with the Subaru dealer; and I would have my forester worked on there. There are alternatives like Import Doctors, but I typically take my daily to places like this.

That is interesting about the Acura dealer - I had a TL for a while, and I never really cared for the Acura service, but I'm glad they have worked out for you!
I decided I will try my hand at the valve adjustment, after reading the DIY guides on here... I just hope I don't end up regretting it. BTW, our Honda dealer will price match parts from Majestic Honda / Bernardi Honda (including shipping), if you ever need to get parts cheaper (I just picked up the gaskets today for when I do the valve adjustment).

What a small world - just ran across this post...know it is a few months old...but I'm from Indy...was also tempted by the silver S2000 at Dream Makers back in January i think it was...and well first of February i bought it!...just thought you might like to know where it went...it is much loved down here in Indianapolis
I see they just got a new one in - 2000 NFR, with only 4793 miles on it. They are asking $26900 for that one, though. And the Carfax shows it had a minor accident, which is a bummer for such a low-mileage vehicle, but I guess there aren't many around with that low mileage.
