How much of the trunk space does the sub eat up?

I dumped the spare completely.

The toolwell is designed to carry a full size wheel and tire. So if you get a flat, you need to put the spare on, where do you carry the full size tire if your toolwell is full of subs and amps?

Around town, I just have a cell phone with me. If I go on a longer trip I grab a can of fix-a-flat for the worst possible case scenario. I figure, hell, my other car didn't even come with a spare at all (and it does NOT have run-flat tires.)

I am not sure of the volume of space lost in the trunk. What goes away is the little "corner" between the fender and the trunk hinge. I never really used it for much anyway as I figured anything I placed up there would just fall into the well anyway.

I could remove the sub in about 30 seconds. I could switch the amp to 4-channel mode in about 2mins (including removing and replacing the panel covering it) if I really needed the space back.

BTW -- I got a chance to drive around with it a little last night. WOW. This has made a pretty substantial change to the sound of my system. I still have tweaking to do, but I really like it so far. I have also been told that the ED subs need a break-in period when they "loosen up." After the break-in they are supposed to sound even better.

Thanks, I think you might want to hang onto that little epitaph for about another week or two. You might be needing it when you see the front of the car.

Shhh.. Don't tell everyone! How did you know?

BTW -- The taillights were converted into headlights and it's a Civic REAR bumper. So now it looks like and S2000 going away from you, but the back of a Civic coming toward you!

Now, if I just TOLD you what I really did, what fun would that be? I'll have some good pictures in a couple of weeks.
