Default DragonBall Run 2005

Me and pushin9 went to WTD05 this year and it was one of the best things I've ever done. If you have not done this, you must. The dragon is incredible. here's a quick 7 minute video of part of the dragon run, with pushin9 leading the way. It's 7 minutes, but the entire run takes about 18-20 depending on speed. hehe.

I will post more video and pictures later. The trip was incredible, and i'll post all the details later with the pics and video. I have over 4 hours of video and Mia took over 500 pictures.

The date is August 26, 27, 28. I'd leave thursday evening/afternoon, August 25th. I know pushin9 will go again, so mark your calendars now!

Matt,

I am pretty sure at this point that Catherine and I will be going again. But, we are going to do things differently this time. I am almost certain that we will just drive straight through from Indy to Louisville to Lexington on down I-75 by ourselves. The group drive from Cinci was interesting but a big waste of time. We left the hotel in Cincinnati at about 8:30 and didn't get to the Hotel until about 3pm. On the way home, Catherine and I left the hotel at about 9:45 Indy time and were home in Indy some time close to 3pm. If you guys want to run down there with us next time, we would enjoy having you along.

The Dragon was amazing. If you have not been there yet, I would strongly recommend making the trip. It was about 1000 miles round trip for us but totally worth it. We are talking about going this summer for a few days during the week after July 4th to avoid the traffic and maximize Dragon time.

I'll consider going since it sounds like a ton of fun. Where exactly in TN is it?

20 minutes south of knoxville roughly. 30 minutes maybe.

The dragon is an 11 mile stretch of road with 318 turns. you climb up the mountains if you start on the Tennessee side. The dragon ends in North Carolina, so it's on the border obviously.

~960 miles one-way for me. I'll probably come if I can find a friend to ride along...I doubt the g/f would want to go on such a long trip centered solely around cars.

Very cool run, I saw only one bike on the vid!!! Lots of times there are too many sportbikes for you to enjoy the drive!! I'm not trying to put the sportbikes down but its a disaster sometimes when it gets crowded. Nice to see it was an open run

Ack! that's the same w/e as the Central Division autox at Rt.66 speedway.

I might go down to Deal's Gap during the week after July 4, too - GM's shutdown, so I've got some time to play between autox's

Its fun but it's not as fun as a track day because, you have to always worry about the people in front of you, and if you lose it on that road you are in trouble.
