Does the S2K finally end production

Does a world wide economic crisis finally end production for the 2 seater? It has been speculated so long that I don't know if I believe it.

Wow...10 years of production for a platform that basically was the same from beginning to end. 1999-2009 RIP (and good riddance),
Personally I think the car should have ended in '02; it would have kept the value of my S2000 high.

I'm not sure if the current one will be axed after 09, the only thing any of the media's seems to agree on is the replacement S2000 has been axed.
Judging by the past press releases on the possible successors, I am pleased they've axed the S2000 and NSX replacements. Honda needs to focus on their bread and butter cars, not sporty cars for the time being to see what the future holds for all of us.
FTR, I wish Honda would axe the current S, I won't believe anything until Honda officially announces it though.

I hope the current AP2 is at the end of production too. I agree with Luder the car should have had a 4 year life cycle and changed or ended. I say this owning a 2005, it would have just forced me to buy used.
I think Honda should (have) focus more attention making the higher Acuras more competitive with BMW and Lexus.

Acura now seems to have not only lost the plot, but someone has also stole the pen and paper to write it on.

I'm at least personally happy that Honda kept producing S2000s until 2006; otherwise, I probably would not have bought one because I was only comparing new cars at the time... I likely would have ended up with either a '06 BMW Z4, or possibly even an '06 Audi TT Cabrio if not for the S. I'd rather have my S than either of those cars.
I never understood how Lexus dominated the Japanese luxury car market. I've never personally liked them. I remember looking at an IS before I bought my A4. That was a bad experience, my Local Lexus salesmen were pushy, and the car drove like crap IMO (the manual tranny was so bad it reminded me of a '98 Ford Escort ZX2). At the time they seemed to be selling like hotcakes, and I never understood it. I think the only thing Lexus had going for it was pricing -- you could/can walk out the door with a new Lexus relatively cheap in these parts.
