Default Devils Lake/Head Meet

CANCELED

Like to try and organize my first meet.

Been here with my local club and it was a great drive to the location. Great scenery for pictures, a lake to swim, picnic tables, BBQ stands, and open grass, hiking trails, and in general nature.

Starting location before the meet will be in Madison. From there we will travel north along some twisties and beautiful Wisconsin scenery. Go across a lake on a ferry and head towards the hilly parts next to the Wisconsin Dells. There sits Devils Head state park. Situated between two high bluffs is a clear lake.

After we could do the reverse roads back to Madison and every can do their own mini-cruises back to their regions. Or you can leave whenever you need to.

A BBQ is a must. I'm thinking about making some true Wisconsin Beer Brats. Need someone to bring a BBQ. Others should obviously bring along another Main dish and sides. Soda's etc.

Pics from the Local Car enthusiasts meet can be found here:

(I was actually in the Supra not the BMW. Driver of the S2K is MadCityS2K)

When: June 13th - Sunday
Time:
Cruise starts in Madison West Towne Mall @ 9:00AM.
Arrive at Devils Head around 10:00 to 11:00
Cruise back to Madison to be decided when we are there. Or head out whenver you need to.

Cost:
There is a fee for entrance into the park area unfortunately. I consider it worth it since this place really is that amazing looking.
If you have Wisconsin Plates: $7
Out of State Plates: $10

List:
Mondo - Beer Brats (+0)

Route removed for a "Just In Case" Factor.

Route is about 100 miles long. If the general consensus thinks it is too long I will shorten it.

Mondo, you mean Devil's Lake SP? Or is there something else called Devil's Head? Your route takes you to Devil's Lake SP. And going across the Merrimac Ferry is pretty similar to the meet that I hosted last year at DL. Great park! I go climbing there often. I don't think I can be there early enough for the cruise, but I'm almost certain I can get there to meet you guys at the ferry for the ride across. Or I can meet up in Lodi....either or at this point...

List:
Mondo - Beer Brats (+0) - May 9th
Mountain-man - I'll think of somethin'

Decided to split it into two legs.

Funny thing is, The first leg equal 66.6 miles...... Coincidence? I think not!

Sounds like fun to me. My only advice is to pick a date and go with it. People are reluctant to sign up for "tenative" dates.

I put this on the calendar. May 9th is Mother's day, so that might affect participation. I'd love to go, but I think I will be doing the family thing.
