Dead battery from being in storage
Well, it's about that time for me to take out my car. However, I realized my battery is dead. I had a trickle charger on it for the past 3yrs everytime it's been in storage, but this time, it did not charge my battery.
In any event, I need to get a new battery. I have read through the forums and most people say to stay away from Optimum yellow top batteries. However, there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what is or are the better replacement batteries out there. Does anyone have any any personal experience and can recommend a good battery? I have one small amp in the car for some speakers, and it's been in the car for years. So I don't need anything heavy duty.
Thanks!

Mine has been very good until after this winter, I too could do with a replacement. I've also heard not to use the Optima batteries, but I have no clue as to a good replacement.

My Yellow top Optima has been a GREAT workhorse for the past 4 years. I haven't had any issues with it with the exception of it being dead at the end of every Winter.
I jump start the car and by the third drive, it would be fully charged.
I have a 4 channel amp, one channel each for front speakers, and the 3rd and 4th channel bridged for a 10" sub. I also have an active alarm.
....no issues.

I replaced mine last year with an EVERSTART from Wal-Mart. I just took the car out of storage after not starting it for alomost 5 months w/o trickle and she fired right up.

Yellow tops aren't bad batteries. The size spec'ed for the S2000 was shitty. I went through two in two years. They died over the winter and didn't come back.
I just went with a conventional battery, and it was fine.
I think the small battery in the S2000 is just more suceptable to dammage from the cold, and dischage from storage than batteries for other cars.

I had an energizer battery lasted 4 years w/o having anything to charge during the winter. I left my radio on for who knows how long and killed it. I just bought an interstate....
