I have 3M film installed on the front bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors as well. The film helps with paint chips from road debris. I used Body-Skins as the installer. Make sure that the parts are clean and the paint is well cured before the film is applied. Whatever is caught between the film and the paint will stay there. That includes dirt, fibers, hair, etc. In my experience, 3M film was found to have manufacturing defects (adhesive - dye runs) where you have visible flaws. The problem is that you cannot see them until the film is applied. As far as durability and looks, I am satisfied with the product. I would apply the film on somewhat flat parts myself but leave the complex parts to an installer.

Pay a professional. There are too many ways to mess it up on your own. It is not as easy as it looks.

How much do they charge normally?
Our local installer wanted over $1000 for the front end.
I guess it's cheaper in Chicago?
