Default Clear Bra... Advise, Suggestions, Tips

As some of you know my my front lip got a couple small scratches last summer as seen in below pictures I am going to be getting it touched up a bit this winter After it's painted I am thinking about covering it with 3M's Clear Bra material to help prevent rock chips and whatever else I manage to throw at it in 08

I don't have any experience when it comes to installing a clear bra. Is it easy? Does anyone have any advise on how to do it right?

I am also thinking about putting a clear bra on my rear bumper. You may ask why... for those of you that have seen the amount of raw gasoline on my rear bumper know why

Also any suggestions on a good place to buy it? I see there is some on eBay. Is that my best bet?

Here are some pictures

Tell the truth now, you went off-roading!

I think Phil has a clear bra on his S, but I don't know he did it himself or not.

What a waste of money...Don't even bother with repainting it and putting the 3m clear bra. I suggest you buy the OEM lip cause it is so much more durable.

Now since you have no use for that one....sell it to me. . Come on, you know you want to. It would look so much better on my car.

I disagree. If the OEM lip went through what this one did it would be in a million pieces. For those that where there and witnessed it being ripped off my car and then getting driven over can attest to that

I do not think the clear bra or anything else for that matter would have survived the punishment you put that through!!

I have the 3M stuff installed on my hood, fenders, mirrors, and front bumper. The hood and fenders I would say go ahead and do it yourself, but as far as anything with a lot of curves leave it to the pros. I had mine done at Motorwerks in Barrington, IL for a small fortune. I later found a kit that was laser cut to fit the S online but I do not think you will find something like this for the rear end so it will have to be cut by hand.

We may want to invite a clear bra installer to the next BAB.

May I suggest keeping the car on the track/road.
