Man, I'm glad to be part of this thread... so many great places I've never heard of before that apparently, I'm missing out on!

I grew up in Phoenix and went to the original Ed Debevic's there. But just looked it up on Wiki, and apparently that one, and all others outside IL, have since closed. So now it is a "uniquely Chicago" place.

Garbage!!!

Gold Coast, Fluky's, and so many others represent Chicago-fare so much better than Portillo's.

Although, Portihillio's does offer up some great chocolate cake!

Not to hate on my own town, but there was an Ed's in Phoenix? SWEET. Sorry to hear it's gone now... I'd rather visit that Ed's when it's cold here LOL!

Portillos is a good "regular" hotdog, there are way better places but because your not from Chicago your not allowed to know about those places! lol plus some places its not worth the lines to get a hotdog...

All kidding aside, portillos is a great place to grab a quick relativity cheap bite to eat.

I would probably call those people 'lemmings'. They probably think McDonalds serves a great hamburger and get their coffee fixes from Starbux.

Next time we'll have a cased-meet outing, I'll be sure that you're on the list to attend. Their are FAR better places to eat Chicago food than Crap-holios...and cheaper to boot.

Hope you're not talking about Doug's. Totally worth the wait. Other than that, where do you have to wait for a good dog?

Sometime's you have to wait at the Weiner's Circle...but that's another one that's totally worth the wait.
