Was the car parked in wrigley? Or where I always used to see it down near fullerton? I always wondered how you got away with parking that thing in the street. I worry about my car getting damaged or stolen, and it's in a gated lot.

The car was parked in Lincoln Park. I live right near Clark and Fullerton.
Don't get me wrong, the S was the best car I ever had. I love to drive it. It just had so many little problems, I was always annoyed.
They went in through the passenger window.
My car has been broken into in Lincoln Park, Bucktown and the Loop. It doesn't matter where you park it, they'll find it.
I have no idea what's next, I have to do some thinking. Nothing too soon, I might wait a bit before I buy another one
AJ, I would keep your car off the road if you can. Your car would definitely be a target.

dang, i think this is like the first S i've heard of being stolen in the chicago area. hopefully there wont be more stolen S stories from chicago owners...it seems like almost all the ones you read about in s2k talk are from cali, new jersey, and florida.
yeah my last car got broken into in wicker park. i made sure to get a garage for my S when i moved to wrigleyville.

I just checked....there have been 6 reported S2000 thefts in Chicago limits from Jan 1,2007 to March 31, 2007 (this doesn't include the suburb zip codes). I'm sure this doesn't include this car, the database I pulled this from gets updated at the end of the quarter.

BTW for 2006, there were 3 reported S2000 thefts for Chicago in the first quarter with one being found and returned to the title holder.
