Sorry to steal you pic RowdyITR

Is the car ok to drive in the rain with the opening on the hood? Any special precautions you have to take?

looks like a vis invader.

I never had problems with it in the rain, but I wasnt in the monsoon or anything, . . .. it theoretically is possible that enough water could enter that would make you lose spark or have some other fantastic electrical problem.

What if you have a CAI?

cai is somewhere in your front bumper, this thing has nothing to do with your front bumper.

The vent on the J's style hood is too far forward to hurt anything motor related (unless you have the ARC intake).

As for the CAI...it depends on what intake you have.

it would have to be raining cats and king kongs on your car to ingest enough water to hydrolock.

It seems as if my mission today is to contradict everything moonliver writes....

The AEM CAI is known to suck up water when it's sitting out in the rain. Unfortunately, one of the rain channels on the fender line runs directly on top of where the AEM filter sits.

The filter saturates with the water streaming down the rain channel/gutter and it pools until the car is started.

right, but he is asking about a hood. water falling on a hood is pretty reasonable unless its raining obnoxiously. when you have a filter in the bumper you can start suckin up whatever is on the street. that is lethal.

and so, yes, it matters what intake you have.

Ok, I would be using a AEM CAI, so I guess that hood wouldn't be the greatest for me

So am I at risk if I install my AEM intake with stock everything else and have it parked in the rain?
